- Diaphragmatic Breathing & Relaxation
Most people don’t realize that there is a right way and a wrong way to breathe. Breathing with the correct muscles can give you much more energy and relaxation than breathing with the less effective but more common muscles. This topic gives hands on instruction to feel the difference.
- The Walking Program (pre-stretch, foot assessment, strategies)
This topic gives participants all the tools to make the most out of their walking program. First, participants are instructed in a 5-minute pre-stretch with the most concise stretches to avoid injury. Then the foot assessment to match the correct walking/running shoes to fit the participant’s foot type. Lastly, the simple but effective techniques to double the benefit from walking without increasing the workout time.
- Body Mass Index Screening
Body Mass Index, or BMI, is the standard by which individualized optimal weight is calculated. The computerized state of the art scale sends a bioelectric pulse through the body and gives each person a printout of their ideal weight, % lean muscle mass, % fat and level of hydration.

Blood pressure checked and each participant is given a quick personalized assessment of simple things they can do to lower their blood pressure.
- Foot Assessments & Shoe Clinic
Each running shoe manufacturer designs running shoes for a full range of foot types. On one end of the spectrum is the flat foot no arch pronator and on the other end of the spectrum is the high arched supinator. Assessing foot types, matching specific models on running shoes to each participant and instructing participants how to identify correct running shoes for themselves is the goal for this topic.
- Tai Chi/Yoga/Meditation
This topic gives each participant a sampling of each of the three complimentary health care techniques. Tai Chi is the ancient martial art form of slow-movement exercise widely practiced in China. Yoga is a powerful tool for deep stretching, relaxation and vitality. Meditation has been shown to be extremely effective for lowering blood pressure, reducing stress-related illnesses and improving concentration.
- Basic Weight Training (getting started, pre-stretch, strategies)
This topic is for anyone who would like to take a step toward exercise but has not been actively involved in any form of exercise for a long period of time. Each participant will be assessed and recommendations will be made on how to begin the process.
